[The day after the excursion to Capypa Land, Goku will find a neatly wrapped present waiting for him whenever he gets to Hakkai's temple. It contains a bright yellow knit hat with capypa ears and two long straps on either side, with small stuffed plush capypa faces instead of pom-poms on their ends.]
[Goku actually doesn't go back to Hakkai's temple after the Capypa Land trip. Instead he goes to the treehouse with Ayumu, to help her get settled in and sit with some kittens for a while as he tries to stay as cheerful as possible whenever she's looking at him. It's only the next morning that he actually goes back to Hakkai's because, well- he's hungry. Getting meals from Hakkai is way more of a habit than getting them from Ayumu, so that's where he goes for breakfast.
Maybe it's also nice to have a quick break from his new shinki. Ayumu is great, but after everything that happened when he named her, it's a little exhausting to pretend he's completely fine.]
Hey, Hakkai- [What. A present? Goku's more than a little befuddled, especially when he opens it and finds. Something. It's cute? He guesses? Oh, no, wait, he saw these at the park yesterday. Goku grins and laughs to himself as he promptly puts the hat on. Okay, it's cute.]
[He's frying eggs with mushrooms and greens; he looks up from the skillet to see Goku with the hat tugged down over his ears, and his own smile meets Goku's grin.
[Oh, man, and that smells good. Goku darts into the kitchen and ducks around Hakkai to get a look at the eggs eagerly. Yes, coming back was definitely a good idea.]
Thanks! Did you get it? I didn't know you were at that place yesterday! [He was distracted. He's still distracted. There's food now, it's distracting.]
[Anything to speed up how long it takes for the food to reach his mouth. Goku spins around and rushes off to the cupboard to gets plates.]
Mm, yeah, I was there for a little while! I had to find Ayu. [Calling her "-chan" seems a little weird and cutesy after a while. He's not a kid, after all. And now they're actually friends too.] I didn't do any of the rides or anythin' though.
Those guys at the meeting place said she was supposed to be my shinki.
[Goku has his back to Hakkai, rummaging through the cabinet and trying to decide how many plates they need. Chikusa, Ken and Gojyo too, right? Unless they ate already.]
And when I found her she was bein' hassled by some of those gross guys. [Ayakashi, he means Ayakashi. Goku pauses, holding a pile of plates a little tensely for a second.] ... So I gave her a name and everything.
[Hakkai, too, tenses. Goku named Ayumu. Goku named Ayumu?]
She's a diligent and hard-working shinki.
[His gaze seeks the back of Goku's neck, looking for telltale splashes of blight.]
... And I'm sorry.
[There's no one else in the room; Gojyo's still asleep, and Ken had gone out with Chikusa before Goku arrived. Still, Hakkai lowers his voice. He'd rather not hint at this where any shinki can hear.]
She was my shinki when she first arrived. [He knows exactly, to every last brutal detail, what Goku must have experienced naming her.] Are you all right?
[ Once Kaden's doing better, and once she figures out what to get for people, Alex starts to drop by the temples of those who have helped her out. She'll knock to see if anyone is home, but if not, she will leave a box of assorted cheesecakes at the door with a note on it:
Huitzilopochtli,
Thank you for all your help with looking for Kaden. I'm sorry it took me so long to do this. This isn't enough to show my gratitude, but I do hope you like them. I wasn't sure what you might like so I got different flavors. I can always get something else though if you don't like them.
If you ever need help with anything, I will be more than happy to help you in any way I can.
Thank you again.
-Alex ]
[ooc: Up to you if you'd like this to stay as a note or turn it into an action tag!]
[Alex is the best. Kaden is so lucky to have such a nice goddess. These cakes are so good.
It takes Goku a minute to figure out what the note is referencing, and then another few minutes of eating cheesecake to guess who Alex is. Who did he talk to about helping Kaden? That person on the network, right? So- ... yeah! After a while, he manages to find the post and remember the name Oshun so he can find her in his phone. He's really getting the hang of this!]
hey alex!!!! thanks for the cake it was super good i dont no i helped much but im glad kaden is okay now!! hes real nice even if hes weird by the way my name is son goku!! not huitzilothingy thanks!!!
[ The exuberant text makes Alex chuckle. He sounded almost childlike in how he spoke.>
I'm glad you liked the cakes.
You still helped, and that means a lot to me. He's doing better. He's definitely..interesting. [ That's one way to put it. ]
Do you prefer to be called Son? Or Goku? Or is it just Son Goku?
[ It may have been a strange question, but Alex was still getting used to the different names and way people introduced themselves here. Some had only one name, others said their last names first, and so on. She wanted to get it right. ]
[Goku hadn't been sure what to do. He'd just been at his own temple for once to make sure Hokuto was okay and then suddenly Ayumu's gone, Gojyo's in trouble, Hakkai's telling him to keep things from Amaterasu. After some hesitation, he'd decided to run to her temple and hope he could meet Hakkai and Gojyo there. He could help bring Gojyo back then. But he can't run as fast as Hakkai can teleport, so he hasn't quite arrived yet when Hakkai sends his text.
He doesn't bother responding, just diverts his course and heads towards the temple of Li Tieguai.]
( A day after their conversation on the network, Goku will receive an envelope addressed to him. Inside of it, is a single omamori, a small box of candy, and a note, )

Why were you looking for her?

Of all the people he could have been looking for at the theme park, why her?]
